Man Will Skydive 25,000 Feet With No Parachute

Would you jump without a parachute?

Would you jump without a parachute?

Back in the old days, “jumping 25,000 feet without a parachute” was a synonym for suicide. Luke Aikins is changing that reality with a planned skydive of that magnitude.

With more than 16,000 jumps to his credit, Aikins is an experienced skydiver. However, most of those plunges involved some type of parachute.

He plans to land on a 100 x 100 foot deceleration net that’s lifted above the ground. (Hey, that’s cheating!)

According to Aikins:

“That might seem big from the ground, but it’s almost invisible from 25,000 feet.”

The jump is expected to be televised sometime later this year. Check out the full deets on his project “Heaven Sent” in the video below.
